Alexa Still (2011)
Alexa is a favourite with Tauranga audiences having performed for Tauranga Musica a number of times both as a soloist and accompanied.Born in NZ, Alexa travelled to the USA where she graduated with masters and a doctorate in flute studies. After returning to NZ, at age 23 she became principal flute of the NZ Symphony Orchestra, a position she held for 11 years.
After 8 years of performing and teaching in USA, Alexa joined the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where she is Associate Professor of Flute and Head of Woodwind. Alexa has recorded an extensive number of CDs under the Koch International label which have won international acclaim.

She is appearing in a solo performance and says "I'd like to say something along the lines of a startling exploration of the possibilities on flute to include music by Ian Clark, Robert Dick, Tomasi, Gergely Ittzes, Marin-Marais and Niccolo Paganini".
