Flinders Quartet is one of Australia’s most respected, loved and busiest chamber ensembles. With numerous accolades, including reaching #1 on the ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) classical charts, their deep commitment to the development of chamber music has resulted in over 75 new work premieres.

Beethoven’s impressively concise Op. 95 string quartet packs a punch in exploring a multitude of musical and emotional ideas in just under 20 minutes, with every millisecond carefully constructed and curated. At the other end of this program is Dvorak’s heart-on-sleeve quintet which Flinders Quartet first played with Menahem Pressler (Beaux Arts Trio) in 2002. The members of Flinders Quartet are feeling incredibly privileged to be playing this with New Zealand musical royalty in Michael Houstoun (piano).
