Affetto is an award winning early music ensemble based in Auckland comprising five leading exponents of this wonderful music. The combination of soprano, harpsichord, cornetta, viola da gamba and theorbo provides an engaging range of sound colours and allows for flexibility of interpretation. Formed in 2010, the group has quickly become known for innovative and uplifting programming, beauty of sound and for bringing some often forgotten music to life in new ways.
Affetto presents Verde Antigua, Cantigas and Cargona from the 16th and 17th century Europe with music from Madura, Marin, Strozzi, Merula, Ortiz, Monteverdi and selections from their new CD.
