Music for Wind Instruments (2018)

This eclectic group of performers conducted by Professor Barry Vercoe comprises of 15 musicians from Auckland and Tauranga. They include seasoned professionals plus younger players. Included are David Adlam, a long-time principal clarinet with the Auckland Philharmonia; Alison Jepson oboe, who plays with the NZ Symphony, the Auckland Philharmonia and Bach Musica; and Gordon Skinner bassoon, for many years principal bassoon with the NZSO. The programme will feature a world premiere performance of A Program Suite for Oboe, Clarinet and Bassoon composed by Professor Barry Vercoe. This wind trio was written in June 1958 and has never been publically performed. The work depicts five events, each part of an evening's programmed entertainment.

The programme includes works by Stravinsky, Rossini, Beethoven and Vercoe.
