Eight of New Zealand's leading cello players
The beautiful and mellow sounds of 8 cellos tickling and delighting the ears from all directions, this is Cellophonics.

After 15 years entertaining and touring around New Zealand, this exciting group of leading NZ musicians comes to you to enrich and demonstrate a totally passionate expression to a wide range of music, from the Baroque to Piazzolla and beyond. Come and be transported!

For 30 years James Tennant has been training up New Zealand's leading cellists and created many cello ensembles from the Belli Celli and ACE, to for the past 15 years Cellophonics. Members of past Cellophonics have gone on to become international stars of the concert stage after they completed their studies at the University of Waikato, such as Santiage Canon Calencia and Edward King, and there are potential stars of the future within this current group of very talented students.

Ever changing, ever evolving, Cellophonics continues to inspire composers to create works for the group, that enlarges a growing popularity with audiences around the world for exciting and inspiring cello ensembles.
